The Kharkov “Radio Components” plant was set up by the decree of the Kharkov Council of National Economy d.d. 18 June 1959 No 002511, as the enterprise for production of connector assemblies and started to operate in 18 July 1959. The production of electric connectors was brought to commercial level in a short period of time. The first batch of electrical connectors was delivered to customers in one month after setting up of the enterprise. Over the two years the plant brought to commercial level the production of the connectors SHR20, SHR48, SHR55, SHR60 — 42 part types. The plant was transfered under authority of the Ministry of the Electronic Industry of the USSR by the order of the Electronic Industry Minister d.d. 9 March 1965. In 1966 the plant was given a name the Kharkov “Radio Components” plant. In 1967 as a result of intensive development of the rocket and space technology and computing machinery the pant was given a task to bring to commercial level production of the new generation of electric connectors of the”Stack”type used in the mainframes such as “Minsk-52” and series EC.
Over the time period 1967-1968 the plant brought to commercial level production of electric connectors RPÊM for aircraft engineering. In 1970 the plant started production of very small connectors RPS1 with gold plated contacts for space vehicles control systems.
In 1969 by decision of the board of the Ministry of the Electronic Industry on the basis of the “Radio Components” plant one of the first industial amalgamations in the country “Connector” was set up which included: Yevpatoria plant “Vimpel” for production of contact pares of electric connectors, Ivano-Frankovsk plant “Inductor” for the production of inserts, the “Etalon” plant in the Antratsit city for the production of contact pares and pressed parts as well as the Kharkov Central Design Bureau of special machine building (KCDB).
Along with production of electrical connectors in 1970 the plant set up its own large scale machine building production facility for mechanisation and automation of production processes with production capacity exceeding 100 automatic machines and lines a year.
In 1976 industrial amalgamation was awarded the order of “Sign of Honour” for achievements in building up of the production volume and improving the quality the products.
In 1985 the the enterprise built up its production capacities and produced 250 millon connectors annually. In 1988 the government set the task of bringing to commercial level production of the multi-contacts electrical connectors with small mate-unmate force such as ARINC-600 under the licence of the French company “RANDIAL”, for jumbo aircrafts ÒU-204, Il-96, TU- 554, ÀN-70. The enterprise managed to fulfill the task completely and in 1992 it started production of these connectors under certification of the French company “VERITAS”.
Along with the large scale production of electric connectors the enterprise developed and brought to commercial level wide range of consumer goods like aluminium frying pans-8 types, furniture fittings, hacksaw blades etc. The enterprise produced about 56 types of consumer goods.
In 1999 the industrial amalgamation “Connector” was floated and became the Public Joint Stock Company “Connector”.
Nowdays the Public Joint Stock Conpany «Connector» — is a company with advanced technical level of production, it has advanced tools, plastic matarials, electro plating, founding and machining production facilities. The workers and employees of the company, great traditions developed over 45 years of the company operation, succession of the generations, provide the ground for shareholders Council, the senior management, workers of the Public Joint Stock Conpany «Connector» have a clear vision of the perspective and to be confident in the future.
To increase competiteveness of our products the production facilities of the company were certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2001. This made it possible for the company to enter the international market. In 1995 the international association «Business Initiatives Lines of Activity» awarded the company the «Gold Star» for achieving the unity in image and quality of the products.
The products of the company are widely used in many sectors of industry:

The state of the art technological processes and computer aided design facilities are used in production prosess:
die casting using non-ferrous alloys in automatic mode;
automatic machines for longitudinal grinding and high speed stamping machines;
termoplastic and thermosetting matarials automatic machines;
automatic electroplating lines with local precious metal plating (gold and silver).
The main type of production is the production of the wide range of electric connectors:
rectangular, cylindrical, combination connectors.
